Some songs…well. Look. I don’t like Micah Schnabel. He is from around here, kind of, so I WANT to like him…but he’s an emo kid playing dress up in alt-country. That and his voice makes me want to murder unicorns and kick puppies. FAKER! *ahem*

Some of it is a little twangy, I know. But overall, it’s solid. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go listen to it a million more times.

I missed it on the site. On one I hand I should be like “YAY that’s so great!” but on the other I’m all “Boo, I didn’t get one. :( .” So I am going to download it from you. HA!

I didn’t realize they had sold out. Oops! Glad I got mine when I did. I had no idea it was such a limited time offer. The second he tweeted about the vinyl cover notebooks the other day I pounced because I missed out on the Alkaline Trio one last time. I also missed out on the Sufjan Stevens Michigan vinyl and I am totally kicking myself over that one. I hope some lovely person saw my facebook post and got it for me for Christmas.

And I am a giant idiot because I can’t figure out how to download them from you. That QuickTime just confuses me.

thanks for picking up our mix, thanks for posting it on your blog, and thanks for telling folks to get it from us. We are sold out which sounds kind of funny since it cost 1 penny to get 5 copies.

Shame on you for not liking Micah. I understand the criticism of not liking his voice; I happen to love it, and I think he is slowly becoming one of Americana’s best young songwriters. Have you seen him live? I dare you to find another singer/songwriter with as much passion as Micah. And weren’t most of us Emo kids at one point? I know I was. We all start somewhere.

Thanks for posting the mix. Everyone, get ready for Volume 2 which is in the works.

First of all, it’s kind of awesome that you commented on my blog. Totally made my day. Until you kind of called me an asshole. ;)

I love Suburban Home. I am constantly spreading the word on your artists. I really don’t buy cds anymore, but I will from SH. I want ya’ll to succeed! I don’t know what I’d do without your bands. As for the Micah thing…

Ok, maybe I am being unfair. I get so personally offended when people tell me they don’t like Lucero because of Ben’s voice. “But the lyrics and the music!!” So yeah, I get that. And I DO like his songs. It’s just that his voice kind of offends me. It sounds…forced. Like he wants a raspy Ben Nichols voice, but he hasn’t drank enough whiskey or smoked enough cigarettes yet. And I do love Two Cow. I saw them in Louisville with Glossary about a year ago and honestly…it was an awful show. I blame about 99% of that on the venue. I was not impressed by him live, but like I said…I blame the venue for that. So maybe I just haven’t given him a fair chance. I want to like his songs. They’re great! And the emo thing wasn’t a dig. Lord knows I am the most morose motherfucker on the planet. From what I know, which is admittedly not a lot, he just feels like he’s misplaced to me. I think I’d be more willing to accept him if I didn’t associate him with artist like Jon Snodgrass. Does that make sense? it’s not that I don’t think he’s a talented artist, he is. I just don’t really care for him. Just my humble opinion. Can’t wait for volume two!
